Lyn’s continued input as a teacher enabled the pottery to develop its educational work throughout schools and communities.
2004
Stopped slip casting and reorganised the pottery to include an educational room and new gallery.
2000
The Millennium. Commissioned by schools and organisations to work with children to produce large ceramic murals. Examples can be seen at Blaydon Catholic School, Driffield Junior School and other schools in Yorkshire.
1982
Diversified into slip casting, making a large range of gift items. Started exhibiting at national trade fares.
1977-1982
Working with Lyn in the pottery, producing mainly utilitarian ware. Began gaining a reputation for commemorative ware embossed with sprig moulding. Gerry’s studio ware was exhibited in galleries including: The Centre for Contemporary Art in Sunderland, Portcullis in Newcastle, Scunthorpe Art Gallery and the COach House Gallery in Cumbria.
1976-1977
Got married, moved to Fangfoss and opened the pottery.
1975-1976
Worked as “repeat thrower” at Honiton Pottery, Devon
1974-1975
Exeter Art college developing pottery skills.
1971-1974
Exeter University, studying archaeology and geography. Gerry met Lyn there!
